Is it possible to have potential fields

I’m trying out your plugin. It’s got fantastic potential. Still exploring it but not sure if I’ve missed anything, but I’m having a few problems with it though.

1. Is there a way to set up a series of custom fields but to leave the a ‘blank’ value if that field isn’t required for that particular post. So to have a blank value would be really useful because of the next point.

As it stands, I try to keep a blank line as the default value when I create the custom field in your plugin, but on the post edit page, it disappears as an option every time I update a post.

2. I’ve ended up just using a period (.) to denote an empty value, but as I have over 20 fields, it ends up filling 20 dots into 20 custom fields per post into the database, which is all wasted overhead. I could manually delete them but they reappear each time the post is updated.

Is it possible to have potential fields from which specific ones can be selected, and others disregarded as they are optional fields?

3. On the other end of the scale, the multiple select items do not register. That includes the multiple select dropdowns as well as the checkboxes. It’s a real shame, as that was what I was particularly wanting to use the plugin for. (I’m using WordPress 3.1.3)

And please don’t think that I’m not highly impressed and appreciative of the plugin, it’s just that there are these somewhat minor issues. Have I overlooked to do in the settings or something?
